Gingerbread Men
Gingerbread Men are a popular choice of cookies during the Christmas holidays, baked with love and filled with nostalgia. Golden Cloud has an easy-to-follow recipe that will help you get into the spirit of giving and sharing.

Ingredients
- 50g salted butter
- 100g soft brown sugar
- 100g golden syrup
- 225g Golden Cloud cake flour
- 2t Bicarbonate of soda
- 1t Ginger powder
- 1/2t cinnamon
- 1/2t nutmeg
- 30ml milk
- Beacon Heavenly milk chocolate and jelly tots to decorate.
Method
- Place a saucepan on medium heat. Add in the butter, soft brown sugar and golden syrup.
- Stir until the butter has melted and the sugar has dissolved. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
- In a large bowl, sift in the flour, bicarbonate of soda, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg.
- Pour in the cooled sugar syrup and mix till well combined.
- The milk is the binding agent, so you add a little by little until the dough comes together.
- Using a spatula, mix until the dough comes together. The dough should be soft and not sticky.
- Wrap the dough in cling film and allow to chill in the fridge for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 160°C
- Line a baking sheet with baking paper.
- Add a dusting on Golden cloud cake flour to a clean work surface.
- Place the dough in the middle of the floured work surface and dust a little more Golden Cloud cake flour over the top of the dough.
- Roll the dough out to 5mm thickness and cut out the gingerbread men using a floured cookie cutter.
- Transfer the cookies to the lined baking sheet bake for 15 minutes.
- Allow the cookies to cool completely in the tray before moving to a baking rack.
- Melt the Beacon Heavenly Milk chocolate in the microwave and use it as the glue to stick on the eyes, mouth and jelly tot buttons.
- Decorate as desired!
